mike, how feasible would it be to make a set of weight releasers? they seem to be a very useful addition to a workout/routine without adding in an entirely new exercise (instead of negatives, just throw these on your work sets). they look like just some tubing welding to a metal plate at an angle. is it any more complicated than just that?

275 x 8 x 1 @ 8
295 x 8 x 1 @ 9
295 x 8 x 1 @ 10

The benching was pretty good. It took me a while to find the groove. I havent got a lot of sleep lately and my concentration suffered. I didnt touch anything today, which is bad. The 687 was close, and if I had been grooving it right, it might have touched. Shoulda, woulda, coulda.
I was DEFINITELY not recovered for deadlifts today. My lower back went on lockdown during the warm-ups. The goal of this block of training was to accumulate fatigue so I can super-compensate during code change (were I wont be able to train for a week). But accumulating fatigue sucks its hard work and sometimes painful work. I cut the last set because I had passed my limit for safety. The risk didnt meet the benefit.
After all this, I didnt have a lot of gas left for inclines. I gutted them out and hit a PR, though.

435 x 2 x 1 @ 8 +110WR

Pullups
4x8 @8-9
270 x 8 x 4 @ 8

I used a lot of weight releasers today (thats what the +___WR means). For squats, I was still pretty beat up from yesterday, but I tried to gut it out anyway. I did my first two sets like I was supposed to. Then I put 80% +180#WR, which is 785 on the negative for the first rep. Jumping 25% in one set proved to be a bit of a shock to the system, so I walked it back in. Mind you, Im feeling beat down and Im not wearing a belt. So, to be candid, it warranted extra caution. After that, I worked up to my 180 weight release. It is pretty cool and Im looking forward to playing with it when Im recovered and feeling good. I had to stop early because I was running out of time.
Ply Press was pretty intense! The overload on this was crazy and the first set felt almost out of control. The second set was much better and I think it is kind of a preview of the benefit that these weight releasers can be if they are used properly. Again, I had to cut it short due to work.
I did the pull-ups at work. Not much to say here just trying to finish as much of my workout as possible.

Hey Mike. Awesome pull. 860 is serious serious weight. Lets see you get 900. I know you can do it.

Nice pull. I know you were reluctant to using the DL suit. What adjustments were made to make the suit work better for you?  All the best at World Games!

I was supposed to wear a tight suit for squats today, but apparently I grew and can no longer fit any of my tight suits. I should have some new (bigger) ones on the way. I ended up wearing a medium suit, but the switching caused the warm-ups to take forever. The 920 set was a tad high, but I forgot to speed up my descent. It was MUCH better than the last time I took this weight and Im confident that I can hit it when it counts. Another problem was once I started getting tired, I stopped sitting back. I cut the last set because fatigue was interfering with my execution too much.
I didnt PR on my bench, but it felt good to handle some weight.
I was gassed for the floor presses. Hit a small PR, but honestly I just wanted to get them over with.

Tuesday DBS
Suit Deadlift (2)
85x1 90x1 95x1 90x1x2 85x2 85x1
735 x 1 x 1 @ 8
785 x 1 x 1 @ 8.5

860 x 1 x 1 @ 10
785 x 1 x 1 @ 9
735 x 2 x 1 @ 8.5

3Board Press
70x3 75x3 80x2x6
415 x 3 x 1 @ 8
445 x 3 x 1 @ 8
475 x 2 x 6 @ 8

SSB Oly Squat +90c
5x6 @8-9
385 x 6 x 1 @ 7
405 x 6 x 1 @ 8
425 x 6 x 1 @ 8
440 x 6 x 1 @ 9
405 x 6 x 1 @ 10

Glory to God for even getting to attempt an 860 deadlift! It was a nice lift, too! Max effort, but do doubt about it. If I can do this in a meet, it will break John Kucs American record (858). The World Record at 275 is 876. Right on the cusp
I tried to make the board work tougher by chopping the rest intervals. Even though the sets were kind of easy, its good CNS conditioning (feeling that weight in the hands)
The SSB work was still tough, but I handled it better than I have before. Sets 4 and 5 were VERY tough, though.

Week 15
Monday -- SBB
Suit Squat (10) +wraps

400 x 2 x 1 @ 9.5
355 x 2 x 1 @ 7

Flat Back Floor Press

365 x 6 x 1 @ 8
385 x 5 x 1 @ 8
405 x 5 x 1 @ 8
415 x 5 x 1 @ 9

This morning my CNS score was low and during warm-ups, things werent as locked in as they usually are, so I decided not to go for a PR. Depth was decent, though. Each rep was boarderline or better. Still an inch or two above where I want to be, though.
I should have known better than going for a PR on the bench, too. I got the 3rd rep, but it was ugly. Im not too worried, though. I could use a little hi RPE work in the bench.
I hit a PR on the Floor Press mostly due to leaving some in the tank from last week. Not bad, though. Got some solid work in.
Overall, Im pleased w/ performance considering my physiological raw material.

Wednesday DBS
Suit Deadlift (1)
75x3 80x2 85x3 85x2 75x2

645 x 2 x 1 @ 7

2Board Press +180pp

335 x 5 x 1 @ 9
335 x 4 x 1 @ 9

Lunges
4x5 @8-9

195 x 5 x 1 @ 8
205 x 5 x 1 @ 8
225 x 5 x 1 @ 9
195 x 5 x 1 @ 8.5

Deads were very solid today! I was strokin with 730. I was locking in my upper back (which I wasnt doing at Nats) and everything was clicking.
Todays weight selection was perfect for 2Boards. Efforts were good. I felt like I got some good bench training in. Workouts like this have been few and far between lately.
For lunges obviously more efficient this week. 33# PR.

Thursday BDB
Shirt Bench (6/7)
75x3 80x2 85x3 85x2 75x2
535 x 3 x 1 @ 7.5
575 x 2 x 1 @ 7.5

615 x 2 x 1 @ 9
545 x 2 x 1 @ 7

Deadlift +mini
75x3 80x2 85x3 75 5 75x4
545 x 3 x 1 @ 8
585 x 2 x 1 @ 8
620 x 3 x 1 @ 9
545 x 5 x 1 @ 9.5
545 x 4 x 1 @ 9

BTN Press
4x6 @8-9
185 x 6 x 1 @ 8
195 x 6 x 1 @ 8.5
210 x 6 x 1 @ 9

Benching went pretty good today. Felt pretty strong. Im getting better at using tighter shirts. Maybe one of these days Ill use one in a meet.
For deads noticeably fatigued from yesterday, and my hands were absolutely killing me. I stick it out though, Small PR and some fairly strong rep work.
I cut the BTN press a little short after my PR set. Im flat out gassed and a little out of balance autonomically. Slot 3 has been very tough energy-wise the past few weeks and Im not sure whether its dehydration, temperature, ANS, etc.

Friday GPP
Bodyweight/Light DB circuit- 20 minutes, HR=140-160, HRavg=145
Stretching

Saturday SBD
Squat
75x3 80x2 85x3 75x5 75x4
555 x 3 x 1 @ 8
595 x 2 x 1 @ 8
635 x 3 x 1 @ 9
555 x 5 x 1 @ 9
555 x 4 x 1 @ 8.5

Ply Press
75x3 80x2 85x3 75 5 75x4
415 x 3 x 1 @ 8
435 x 2 x 1 @ 8
465 x 3 x 1 @ 9
415 x 5 x 1 @ 8.5
415 x 4 x 1 @ 8

Lever Row
4x6 @8-9
135 x 6 x 1 @ 8.5
155 x 6 x 1 @ 9
135 x 6 x 1 @ 8
140 x 6 x 1 @ 8

Squats were pretty good today. Stance was slightly inconsistent, but strength was good. I need to continue to focus on my mental cues and not expect them to be habit yet.
I havent PRed in ply press for a long time, but made a 4# PR today. The rep work was on the easy side, though. Not sure exactly what to do about that maybe add an extra set? That would have been contraindicated by my ANS score this morning. So I dont know right now. Ill work on this problem, though.
The lever rows are a cool exercise, but man they suck. I really dont like rowing anyway. FYI, it is recorded as plate poundage per side only. They are pretty tough.
