lol! So no front squats? I'll see what I can do....

It also sounds like you may need a deload week in the near future. Does that sound right to you?

Yes that probably sounds right.  I'm going to Vegas in a couple of weeks, so right around that time would be good, then I can get right back at it when I return.  I'll also update you on upcoming meets.  I'll get that together and shoot you an email.  For saturday and next week, we'll stay the course.

I was pretty pumped about the 500x4.  I have never even tried that weight for more than a single.  However, I feel again it's baby steps and once I know I can handle a weight, I get the confidence to keep doing it.  That's one thing I definitely like about RTS is it pushes you to always keep going.  Back in my hockey days we would do drills to take us out of our comfort zone.  We would skate the circles at absolutely top speed, if you coasted to prevent from falling, you'd get yelled at because you weren't putting yourself out there and testing yourself.  Today was a good test.  HOPEFULLY, it will carry over and doing 500 for sets will just be another number.

A couple of things prevented this from being a great workout though.  Because I visualized and thought a lot about this morning's squat, it was anticlimactic, more of a phew.  Then, when I went to the Floor Presses I saw that I had done 400 for a double previously, so I barely warmed up and thought I'd crank out about 6-7 at 340.  I barely got 3 and stayed at that weight.  Then, onto the RDL's and I was pretty spent and I feel I just went through the motions on those.

So, let's say this was a meet, I would have hit a good squat, and my bench and dead probably would have sucked.  Granted, preparation and visualization would have been given equal time on each lift, but I like to think I can flip the switch better than I did today.  Man, it's a humbling sport!!

I was hoping to get a 375x3, but I knew after 2 I did not have another one in me.  I hope that all of the work up to this point was the reason, but I was a little disappointed nonetheless.

Man, I am not very good at these.  The weight feels ok, but I tire out quickly.  I feel as if I should be going heavier, but I don't think I would get the reps.  At least I have lots of room for improvement!!

Soccer started tonight, so most of my Wednesday workouts will start at 8:00pm.  Looks like we got a good squad, a number of veterans from my fall team.  I think I'm going to put them on the RTS program so we can improve our strength and conditioning.  I don't want our girls to get pushed around by the rough and tumble "Dolphins" or the bruising "Watermelons".  When we are deep into the 4th quarter, I want to know our girls have that extra fuel in the tank to take it home!!Oh, did I mention this is kindergarten girls soccer????  Maybe we'll hold off a bit.

Pretty good workout.  I was happy w/ the 615x3 Deadlift.  The bench started ok, but I wore down towards the end.  I did not do a good job w/ the 3 board.  I think I was looking past it and just wanted to get it done.  I like the Good Mornings as a finishing exercise.  I have never really pushed too hard on them.  I like to feel the weight, but I get nervous going too heavy on them.  That's why my numbers are more indicative of a 13yr old girl instead of an average lifter.

I had to do a Friday night workout instead of Saturday morning because of a trade show for work all day Saturday.

Squats felt good, I don't like squatting alone w/o a spotter on the heaviest set.  I know big deal, but I know I quit earlier than I would have and did not go as heavy.  Also, training by myself throws my timing off a bit because I just kind of sit there doing nothing while I wait and I end up rushing it.

Bench from Rack pins

Go up and put pizza in the oven, set the table, have Bella call her parents to let them know she's eating w/ us.

Glute Ham Raises

So, overall I felt good on the squats.  Had some focus issues on bench and glute ham raises.  Glad I was able to get the workout in even if it wasn't the best ever.

Bench is inching upward 1 pound at a time it seems.  I need to do over 400 at my next meet!!  It seems I'll need my next meet to be in 2012 though.  Really though, I am happy w/ the progress, but I am waiting for that magic day when I am repping 400+ like it's nothing.

Btw- Andrew if you read this...I am NOT doing Raw Nationals.  My next meet will be June 27, at the Twin Ports open in Duluth MN.  We were trying to plan a family vacation and incorporate Nationals.  However, it would all be built around my meet and it would end up being a compromised vacation just to appease my lifting.  With the amount of money we would have spent, it would not have been fair to the rest of the family.  So, I will do the meet in Duluth which is about 2 1/2 hours from home and my daughters will still be able to come.  I have not done a local meet in about 3 years and my daughters have no recollection of it (they were 3 & 4).  That also eliminates any chance at the Arnold, so next year I won't have to debate Arnold vs. Raw Unity.

Felt good tonight.  I'm now off for a few days going to Vegas for the Ricky Hatton v Manny Pacquiao fight and to bet on the Kentucky Derby.  Ok, ok, actually, we ARE staying at the MGM where the fight will take place, we will watch the Derby, but instead of going to the fight we are seeing Cher...OUCH, (xmas present for my parents).  I'm still a badass though and you did see I missed a workout for Motley Crue concert:)

Everybody is a comedian!!!  Check out this "badass" shirt my dad made and gave to me in Vegas.  The concert was great...better than Barbara Streisand disbelief

Sweet - Now you have a shirt to wear to all the Biker Bars!
