Thank you Tony and Grant!  I really appreciate it!

I'm very thankful for Mike's program and this board because there are a lot people supporting one another and encouraging each other.  I have definitely made gains in just the short time I've been doing this and I look forward to more gains in the future.  I know when I'm working out I always have in the back of my mind, "man, I'm going to have to post this workout and I don't want to look like a slacker."

Haven't posted in a bit, last week did some dumbbells and front squats.  I also started taping up my nipples and hitting the pavement a la Andrew H.  My 8yr old daughter is running a 1 mile race on Saturday, so I've taken to running to help her out.  On Wednesday we went out and ran .8/mile because I thought it was a mile until I clocked it.  We ran a mile on Saturday and again tonight before working out.  At this pace I will complete my marathon by Labor Day.  Overall, I don't like it, but I think I will try to make running a part of my lifestyle.  Nothing major, but 1-2 miles consistently just to get a little cardio going.

I tried doing that 'running' thing you guys refer too where you move your legs fast. I got some wierd salty fluid coming out of my skin so I drove to the emergency room and am terrified to try it again. To get a good sweat going try my idea that I use religiously. Severly overeat before bed! You will sweat your ass off all night digesting it. Best sweat you will ever have!

I am not familiar w/ that weird salty fluid coming out of my skin.  Either I'm in fantastic shape or running at a 25 minute per mile pace just doesn't do it.

While dad and Judy were still lifting I snuck out and ran a mile.  I came back and did abs on the the Glute/Ham machine.

Workout was quick and pretty good.  Even though the weight was light, I felt sort of rickety w/ it.

On Tuesday I had my physical therapy, working on my shoulders and tendonitis in my elbow.  Wow was it a whole lot of not fun.

Saturday am
Lisa (my wife) ran her 4 mile race this morning coming in just under 37:00.  After that they had the "Family Fun Run"  This was a 1/2 mile race that I did with my 6 year old daughter Kayla.  It was funny we walked down to the start and talked about how much fun it would be running together.  Then, they said start and she took off and left me in the dust.  Through guts and determination I was able to pull even w/ her at about the 1/2 way point and then I blew her out of the water and humiliated her and taunted her and beat her by a lot....NO NO NO, I left my buddy I was running with and ran to catch up w/ her and then we finished together...a great father daughter event.

Then my older daughter Olivia (8) and my wife did the 1 mile race.  They finished at 9:26 which included a timeout to re-tie Olivia's shoes.  So, Lisa ended up doing 5 miles and I did a 1/2 mile, but we had a great family event.  Now it's off to the parade, then it's Jeramie's for the UFC tonight!

I sort of went through these...after the bench and squats, I was pretty tired for these, so I hung out at 135 and did the 6 sets.

This was a great workout.

These were tough but good, really got a good sweat going.  It worked out well w/ the 100s in the middle of the platform and the chain between them.  Then, dad and I each had a bar and we just kept rolling them back and forth to the middle.

I'm still working my way back into it.  I was disappointed w/ the benches, but felt real good w/ the deads.  I definitely need to improve my good mornings.  I get a little nervous doing them because I don't want to pull something in my back, just a mental thing not physical.

We had 4 squatters so there was a lot time between sets at first.  Then dad did our 80% 3x2 alternating w/ Judy and Morgan.  Then I did 3x2 alternating, then dad did 3x2, then I finished up w/ 3x2.  So, that sped it along a bit.

I didn't know for sure, so I'll check w/ Mike, but I think this was Bench w/ double purples.  I have bands from Elite and the purples are ~1 1/4" and then I have greens that are about ~1 3/4".  I wrapped it around the bar and snaked it around the handles of an 80# and a 90# dumbbell and back up to the bar.  I don't know how much extra weight that was but it was awkward to stabilize, but the weight felt light, however it got tough pushing it up.  That's what I did anyway.  How do you figure the amount of weight?

I love squatting w/ chains...this was a fun workout.

btw--I lied previously about this being my Linkdin, myspace, and facebook.  I am now an official facebook member.  My page is not quite as exciting as this and I suspect it won't improve.  Seeing as I have yet to master something as simple as posting vids on here (except the one Jordan found of me decline benching...oops) I don't suspect my fb will wow anyone.

Deadlift off 2" 100 pound plates + 40# Chain
Warmups
I need a new abacus and better thought process.
I started out by miscalculating my working weights by about 30#s and then even managed a misload on my first set by another 20#.  I did my first set, but did not re-calculate so I went w/ what I had.  It was tough.  Actually if I'm supposed to do 80% of my 1RM, does that mean my 1RM of deadlift off 2" of 100s and 40# of chain or 80% of my regular dead pr?  If it's of my regular dead pr then I was good, but that would be much higher than a 1RM max on that particular exercise once you factor in the low start, no belt and chains...right?
Anyway

Hey Tony

"do 80% of my 1RM, does that mean my 1RM of deadlift off 2" of 100s and 40# of chain "

That would be correct. It would be 80% of that particular exercise....

Thanks TRON!

I'm glad to hear that because last night was tough by doing it off my regular max and throw in my incorrect addition and it was rough.
