Calculating Volume

This is directed to mike or anyone who can explain.

When calculating volume when you use bands, chains, or both do you use the weight at the top or bottom when calculating volume.

Also when calculating total volume, average intensity, and average rpe what is the lowest weight(in terms of percent of projected max) that you use in your calculations.

It doesnt really matter much. Just do it however it makes sense to you, be consistent, and analyze in comparison to your own logs.

For me personally, I count bands/chains as exercise variation, and thus record volumes as bar weight only. Its the most simple way for me to keep track of it and it makes the most sense in my head.

I only calculate numbers on my work sets, which I consider to be within 10-12% of my top set for the day. So if my top set is 85%, then Ill count anything 75% and over. Less than that and I consider it a warmup.
