Limit Weights = High Cost.

Hey There Mr. Tuchscherer.

I would indeed like to discuss this further.

could you please be so kind as to elaborate on your statement?
(just look at the topic title and you'll see what I mean.)

also the reason I brought it up is because I have watched you both to learn and as a huge fan of yours as a hope to be 275 lifter with almost the same bio mechanical leverages. thus I look to learn from your technique. for example your re-set up each rep when training the deadlift was something that helped my training dramatically. but I've watched you for the past year as one of the top IPF/USAPL Single Ply lifters. but you always seemed to fall forward and many times I've seen you at meets and in training fail what besides that one issue were spot on lifts by any standard(except for the idiots who think squatting 25s Ass to Grass is cool). thus I was  wondering why you had no corrected it by now so I could figure out what you had been doing and try it for myself.

Wow, I just happened by this forum. I rarely check this one anymore. Try the new site at:
www.ReactiveTrainingSystems.com. Sorry -- I'm not trying to give you the run-around! If you would like to post it on the main forum, I can continue the discussion. If not, no big deal -- you've worked plenty hard enough to get your answer!

I understand your position and interest a bit better now... Sorry if I seemed rude on YouTube. There's just a lot of dumb comments out there and I reacted too defensively. Thanks for sticking to your question. I appreciate the opportunity to get this right.

Mistakes with limit weights (especially very heavy relative to bodyweight) have a small margin for error. A small mistake can have a higher cost with a very heavy weight over a less heavy weight or even a limit weight done by a less skilled lifter. For me, missing the deadlifts has been an issue of keeping my weight back. I'm not sure why my weight gets forward in the meet, but it has and that tiny bit costs me.

Regarding the squat, if I was to be perfectly honest, I'd have to say I haven't been concentrating on it. I have had what seems to be unending problems with squat mechanics over the last year or so. I think I finally have that nailed down enough that I can start concentrating on hip drive and alignment. Like everything else in my squat, I don't think it will come easy and I think it will take lots of concentration.

Hope that helps some.
