I agree, good post. Will you be abstaining from meat on Fridays as well? I for one am very encouraged by the presence of so many godly men in powerlifting, keep it up and God bless.
I also like the fact that you're using chains with the deadlift. Is this the beginning of things to come?
Perhaps. I will use one chain for all deadlift movements from the floor for both this prep. cycle and 2 weeks into the comp. cycle. I am also using them on the bench press one day a week. It is important to note that I have not compensated my work weight percentages for the fact that I am using chains, so the "bottom weight" will not drop off. I believe this is where many folks may make an error when programming the use of bands/chains.

Yes. No meat on any Friday's until after Easter. Ash Wednesday and Good Friday are days of fast and abstinence.
God is where I get my strength. Of course I am going to honor and praise Him :)
Keep the faith! I will be abstaining from meat as well for Lent
Good on you.
I have an excellent shirt that Spero at R.A.W. United sells that depicts Christ on the cross. It says "Power in the Blood" on the front and "Who Do You Lift For?" on the back. It is a great shirt and I am proud to proclaim my Christian faith :)
Here is another quote from a fellow lifter that I know, although it might be a bit controversial. I liked it, though.
Where do you get those shirts? I think I mentioned it at Raw Unity as well. I have some friends around here who would love it as well. I looked on his website and didn't see them.
Hey Eric At the start of the week I had myself convinced that I was going to let the "abstaining from meat thing" slide this Friday, but now there is no way I am going to let myself slack off!!!

Stay strong!
It is such a small sacrifice compared to what HE did for us, right?
