Mike I got a few questions for ya. I have always believed that an individuals diet is just as important as the lifting program one does. Obviously without the sufficient ammount of protein and carbs and natural fats etc., you cannot get the gains that you should make by working your muscles. I was wondering The breakingdown precentage wise of your protein/carbs/fats, daily caloric intake, whether or not you taper carbs as night approaches to reduce fat gain and so on. I understand you are sponsered by quest. What supplements do you use, and how would you rate them? Haha dont get me wrong... I am not asking for you to write a detailed book, just a good outline to follow. Maybe I even put too much thought into the whole process, but the way I look at it your diet is evenly as important as your lifting. Oh and another thing... how are your book sales doing? Hopefully you are selling alot. It is really well done!

Diet... I've worked it all kinds of different ways and, honestly, I kind of like the Metabolic Typing diet that Eric Talmant uses. It reminds me of RTS, only with dieting. Now, I'm not as hardcore about it as I could/should be, but it makes sense to spend some time on it.
I used to do Carbs/Protein/Fat ratios and count every gram of everything. I did it for almost a year. But I got so... sick of it. One thing I like about Metabolic Typing is that I don't have to count all that crap. It teaches me that if I feel this way and have been eating that way, I need to eat more of this other stuff.
For example, I'm a Fast Oxidizer. Generally that means my body tries to process food too quickly. To counter that, I eat a diet with lots of fats. If I eat a lean dinner, then afterward feel unsatisified or if I get a sweet craving, I know that, for me personally, I need to eat more fats, so I'll opt for a block of cheese instead of an apple. On the contrary, if I eat a ton of fats and proteins with very little carbs, then get a sweet craving, it's obviously not because I didn't get enough fats! So I should eat something with some healthy carbohydrates in it.
So Metabolic Typing is RTS for the diet (in my opinion).
well table spoon of oil roughly after eating dense protein and carb meal, dont go overboard with it as oil contains lot of fat, read the back of the bottl,
Hey where can i find more about the metabolic typing? Along with me my girlfriend is trying to program her diet for gymnastics, and i have heard some good things.
He'll be the first to tell you that it's not a muscle building or fat loss diet. It's a health building diet. And when those pieces are in place, you can THEN use it to manipulate body composition. It's interesting and the concept of sports nutrition in general is something that I'd like to learn more about. There's so much to learn in this field!
When you get the chance, I was curious as to what your daily eating routine is like. I just took the metabolic typing test, and am also a Fast Oxidizer. I'm not sure if you still subscribe to metabolic typing, but even if you don't I'm still curious.
You probably don't want to know what my eating routine has been like lately (i.e. it's not been too good).
I'll be cleaning up my diet soon, so I'll let you know what it's like once that happens.
On a related note, I had a hard time buying into some of the Metabolic Typing stuff initially, so I started doing my own research. The more I learned, the more I found Metabolic Typing to address things more completely than other diets. That said, it's a very difficult diet to do well.
