Any Use for electronic muscle stimulation unit?

Just found a top of the line EMS unit at my work.
It is a professional sports model (not a home use)
I have access to it day and night.

Does anyone think that these machines have any use for powerlifting?

I know Eric T uses one...so hopefully he will chime in.

I think they can be useful as a recovery modality. That's about all I know about it. I don't know much about protocols, etc.

I'd be willing to bet that it depends on the circumstances. I.e. if you're trying to recover one thing it's good, but for something else, it's useless. Do some research on what exactly it's used for. I'd search the EFS Q&A and ask some other folks.

The only piece of info I have is that my wife used one extensively when she ran track at the Air Force Academy to help recover her shin splints. It helped.

My physio used one to break down muscular scar tissue in my back, it seemed to help, but I needed to have the setting pretty high and for 30-45mins at a time.
