I have been reading mixed reviews about pulling in a squat suit, and some people are claiming better numbers out of the squat gear then out of a deadlift suit by 50 pounds. Seems like getting to the bar would be hard with squat gear. Just curious what everyones experiences with this are before I try it out.

Hopefully Evan will jump in here, but to my knowledge a lot of those who pull in a squat suits usually wear them backwards. From what I know the Titan NXG is a better pulling material then the Super or NXG super+, I've also heard of people pulling successfully in Metal Viking V-Squatters and Hardcore's.

Yeah, from personal experience, the Titan centurion nxg+ suit is the best suit I have ever worn for sumo. I'm going to try one of my W/S super+'s in training sometime, but for me a huge part of the lift is being able to get into proper position..so that suit might be a little too unforgiving. From what I saw at worlds, and many video's around online, most sumo pullers are either in titan squat suits, or metal squatters (v-type). Although the fusions seem to be getting pretty popular
Evan, what is the carryover difference between the two? I have read that wearing a deadlift suit offers the same support off of the ground, but the squat suit assists you more through the sticking point. The reason I like the idea of the squat suit is that the extra grab on the legs seems like it would help more. I am ordering new gear here soon and am planning on just ordering a squat suit to use for both lifts to train in. What would be the benefits of wearing a squat suit backwards?

The Super NGX+ is Titan's newer stuff. Pretty stiff stuff. I've worn Centurion Super NGX+ for both squats and pulls and I'm very happy with the boost on the deads(sumo).
Yeah most people are saying that it offers a lot in sumo, but I am now pulling conventional, and staying that way. Do you think they super NXG will be too stiff to get down on a conventional pull and set up?

In my experience, the ability to get into the start position of the deadlift with gear on is mainly determined by strap tightness, not necessarily the material the suit is made from.

Jordan, I know a few lifters who have tried pulling conventional in the super+ and it hasn't worked out for any of them for what thats worth. The Titan deadlift suits although garbage for sumo, have given some success with conventional, but I would look at a metal viking or fusion, those two seem to be the most popular choice these days
