Question about Cyclic
Permalink

Hi, I've just finished reading the book, and I must say it was quite intruiging and I am looking forward to trying this after finishing my current round of Sheiko.

I do have a question about the cyclic exercises though. Are you supposed to cycle the rep ranges during the volume and intensity phase, or just stick to the same for that cycle. For example week 1-3 during volume phase are you supposed to stick with tripples @8-9 if you use that in the first week, or are you supposed to change this up in week two with doubles @8-9. Or maybe both these approaches can be done?

Also I see the same cycles are used for assistance work as is for the main exercises. Should I train the assistance exercises as hard as the main exercises, or should this be lighter?

Yes, cycle the rep ranges.

If you mean should you train the assistance stuff with the same effort (RPE's), the answer is yes. You should be working hard on everything -- at least until you have a reason not to.
