I want to know if this excercise can help to increase the strength in squats and deadlifts. hmm

P.D. I Know that is so important the abdominal area for strength, but my question is about  if somebody have experience doing this type of excercise ... Thank you

I used to do these pretty regular with a barbell (the balance issue made it a great grip movement also) and used weights nearing my bodyweight(165-pounds)...never saw much, if any, direct benefit...LOL! So I stopped doing them.

That being said, I  think it is a good movement for "general" trunk work, but nothing thats going to dramatically increase your lifts...at least from my experience. I've had thick obliques for a long time from lots of overhead work, Olympic lifting, powerlifting, etc. so maybe it would be different for someone else.

Biggest transfer would be to walking squats out.

You do need exercices like this sometimes....but it wont make or break your program.

I know westside used to do them before monolifts became popular.
