To manually convert Zimbra files to MBOX format, you can follow these steps:

Export Zimbra data: Open the Zimbra application and go to the desired folder (e.g., Inbox, Sent Items) that you want to export. Select the emails or folders you want to export, right-click, and choose the "Export" option. Save the exported data as a .tgz file.

Extract the .tgz file: Use an archive utility tool (e.g., 7-Zip, WinRAR) to extract the contents of the .tgz file. This will create a folder containing the individual email files in .eml format.

Rename the email files: In the extracted folder, you will find multiple .eml files. To ensure proper sorting and organization, rename the files as per your preference (e.g., email1.eml, email2.eml).

Create a new folder: Create a new folder on your computer to store the MBOX file and the email files. Choose a location that is easily accessible.

Combine email files into a single MBOX file: Open a text editor (e.g., Notepad) and create a new empty file. Save this file with the .mbox extension (e.g., emails.mbox). This will be your MBOX file.

Copy and paste email content: Open each .eml file in a text editor and copy the entire content, including headers and body. Paste the content into the MBOX file created in the previous step. Each email content should be separated by a blank line.

Save the MBOX file: Once you have copied and pasted the content of all the .eml files into the MBOX file, save the MBOX file.

Verify the MBOX file: To ensure the MBOX file is correctly created, you can open it with a compatible email client (e.g., Mozilla Thunderbird) that supports MBOX format. Import the MBOX file into the email client and verify that all the emails are present.

Greetings,
Peter
