Meet today-pr's on all 3-Thanks Mike!

Had a meet today. Did it raw-added 165 lbs (67.5kg)to my total. A 66 (30kg)lb PR on my squat-44lb (20kg)pr on bench & 38.5 lb (17.5kg). Not bad since my last meet was in Feb.

Thanks Mike-I feel If I had followed the RTS program earlier and had been healthy ( I had a bad respiratory infection & a torn calf muscle from May onwards)I would have added more. I feel I overtrained on the bench at a certain point in the program but I will learn from that. I also feel that shorter blocks of 2 weeks work better. I will now see if I can make the fatigue percents work.

Thanks again Mike.

Holy cow! Those are awesome improvements! Congrats on the progress you made! I'm sure you'll have no problems with Fatigue percents and couple that with shorter blocks -- look out! When is your next meet?

Thanks for the kind words.

I did a total of 400kg raw on Feb 17th. Yesterday I did 467.5kg raw. Squat was 160kg, Bench 115kg & deadlift 192.5kg. I know these numbers are'nt great but it's a start. The best thing was I had room to spare and all the lifts came up pretty quickly-no real grinders.

I honestly think I had 170-175 in the squat, 125 in the bench & 200 in the deadlift. I was conservative and just wanted to make all 9 lifts. I went 7/9 in my meet in Feb & wanted to learn from that and get all 9 lifts this meet.

I only did RTS for 4 weeks-2 week volume block, 2 week intensity & than a deload week before the meet. However the basic concepts gave me something very solid to work with. I made some mistakes but adjusted accordingly-(eg overtraining the bench). I guess that is the beauty of RTS. You will make some mistakes but if you look hard at your training & tweak where necessary you WILL make gains.

Mike,

My next meet will be in Feb however I will only start training from the end of Nov. I will be going overseas to India and I'm not sure if I will get any serious training in starting the begining of Nov.

I think I will do a transmutation block now-just doing stuff like military presses, olympic squats & power cleans.

Not to be a jerk (just trying to prevent confusion) -- it's a transition block. Transmutation is high intensity, fairly high stress, high specificity of movement.

Congrats again -- that's still huge improvement.
