- My weight will probably be a little heavier tomorrow morning, but then back to lighter again for Friday and Saturday - My back has been stiff this week, and I had debated on not doing this workout, but I am actually glad that I did as I feel pretty good afterwards. - Visualized the commands today for everything

Contest Prep Week 4 - Day 4
- Weight before bed: 278.0 - Weight on waking: 274.6
- Was slotted to actually train today because for some reason it got mixed up that I compete on Sunday rather than Saturday. Since I would have had two days of general rehab and rest in the prescribed plan, I have decided to not train today and take the two days of rest, rather than a day of training and a day of general rehab if I were to follow what was given. Static Stretching: 25 min static stretching and mobility Passive Recovery: - Deep Tissue: Rolling on Hockey Balls for lower back, upper Glutes, mid Glutes, and Pecs - Visualization - Tens Machine - Whirlpool tub: 40-43C, 104-111F for 20 Min Restoration Work: - Cold Shower - Alternating Heat and Ice Packs
- If you need help going to sleep please read this - First time back on the platform since April of 2008 - Went 4 for 9 today. This obviously is not terrific, but I am very happy with it. - Even though I did not make allot of lifts I still PRd in some way for every lift. - This is actually the first time I have really enjoyed a powerlifting meet in a long time and I have a renewed vigor for competing now. It was nice to see old friends and meet new people in a very positive environment. - I now have a lot of things I know to work on, and have a chance really soon to test myself out again as there is the Ontario Provincial championships coming up in early October. - My lower back was pretty frigged up for, and during the meet. I really need to get a handle on this. A couple of weeks of de-loading will hopefully do the trick. - I would like to thank my buddy Jason Nacho Platts, and the Reverend Rhino for all of their help. Jason Platts has an abnormally disproportioned Cranium, hands, and feet compared to the rest of his body. Also congratulations to the Reverend Rhino for his sweet 245 kg bench in the bench only. Thanks to the power invested in him by the Internet, Reverend Rhino is now allowed to marry people in the United States. - Things did not go well for my buddy Dirty Kerry in the bench, but he handled it like a man and will be back strong in October. Your squats were great by the way dirty Kerry. It was disgusting having to bench after you, walking out on the platform and seeing that big lake of sweat on the bench. The first time the spotters wiped it off with a towel, but the second time they just kind of smeared it over the bench and I had to lay in your filth you dirty freak. Please seek medical attention Dirty Kerry. - I really want to total Elite this year and think that I have a good shot. Hell, if I would have done a bit better today and got more lifts in - who knows. Bodyweight: - Weighed in super light. I forget exactly how much, but it was 122.? KG. I will have to check the official results when they get posted to find out for sure. - I need to get a more accurate scale at home, because on waking I was 123.8 KG - I did have to wait a long time to weigh in, and it was a little warm too, so there is a good chance I lost a little bit in sweat waiting. Total: 847.5 - This is an all time PR total for me - This beats my best 125 KG total by 22.5 KG (49.6 lbs) - This beats my best Super Heavyweight total by 5 KG (11 lbs) - My Wilkes is somewhere in the mid 480s with this, once I see the official results I will know exactly. Squat: - Warm ups went well - 135x5, 225x3, 315x3, 405x2 (belt) - 500x1 (suit + belt), 600x1 (suit + belt + Loose Wraps) 1st Attempt 305 (672.4) Success - I set the squat racks a bit too high, and ended up dragging the rack with me as I unracked. - Good depth and it was relatively easy. - Next meet I am going to bump this up slightly - This is an all time meet PR (5KG) for me in both the 125s and the Super heavyweights
2nd Attempt 320 (705.5) Failed on Depth - I was really close on this - Allot of people told me that they thought I got this, so that is good news for next time. I did feel I was a bit more forward on this then I could have been. -Weight was not easy but not overly hard 3rd Attempt 320 (705.5) Failed - Did a little didgery-do maneuver and went really deep but got out of position and had the spotters take it on the way up. - If my lower back was healthy I think I would have taken more of a chance to grind it out Bench: - Warm ups went well - 135x5, 225x3, 315x1 - 405x1 (shirt no touch), 455x1 (touched my chest and had someone pull it off of me) 1st Attempt 220 (485) Success - This went well and felt very smooth - Felt like I had a lot left in the tank - This is a 5KG PR for me in the 125s, and it matches my PR in the Super Heavyweights
2rd Attempt 227.5 (501) Failed - Not Bad off of the chest, but literally stopped an inch before lockout. - I just could not lock out that last inch. Damn it was so close! 3rd Attempt 227.5 (501) Failed - This only came halfway to three quarters up now, think I spent it all the last try. Deadlift: - Warm ups went well - All in suit and belt - 315x1, 405x1, 495x1, 585x1 - I was worried as hell about this, my back was totally messed up - After every attempt I almost passed out on the way off of the platform. I am trying to figure out if it was a hydration thing, a nutrition thing, if I was over-caffinated, if I took too much Ibuprofen etc. 1st Attempt 300 (661) Success - This looked easy but it hurt
2rd Attempt 322.5 (710.98) Success - Really did not believe I could get this one but I did. - This is a 2.2 KG PR for me in the 125s - Ow - You can hear my cute little two-year-old God Daughter in the background of the video saying Go Chris. No one taught or prompted her to say that. I thought that was very special!
3rd Attempt 330 (727.5) Failed - What the hell, the last one went, might as well see if this one will too - It didnt
Chris, you are a machine and you were impressive all day. Huge congrats, and with a healthy back, your Elite total is in the bag. Fantastic job, and the hard work you do in training is paying off huge. Congrats my friend.
P.S. I could bottle a little sweat for you if you like. I have plenty to spare...
Nice job, Chris! Very well executed lifts! Once we get you healthy and tweak a couple of things training-related... I can't wait to see what you do on a 7/9 or better day!
Congratulations, man! Enjoy the well-deserved time off!
