First Squat Suit
Permalink

I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions as to a good first squat suit.  I squat with feet slightly outside of the shoulders, lift in the USAPL, and have a budget of about $140 (Christmas cash). I was thinking of just getting a z-suit since I imagine it would be very forgiving and leave some money in my pocket as well. I'd imagine I'd also want some suit slippers so I can get it on myself.

Slippers are a good idea, as is a z-suit. But at the same time, you will have learned and moved past a z-suit in a short while, whereas a centurion isn't too much suit for you and you can use it for a long time to come.

Merry Christmas!

Good point, I ended up going with a Centurion that I found for $99, I figure with that price it's one of the old discontinued ones, and I also got some slippers and powerwash as well. Merry Christmas to you as well Mike, hope it was a good one.

Okay so now I have a dilemma. The guy I ordered from emailed me and said he is out of size 44's and suit slippers. This leaves me with several options: I can get a size 46 centurion, which would be the "regular fit" for me, or I could go with a size 44 superior suit. I suppose I could also go with a properly fitting z-suit as well.  Any ideas as to which way might be better?

Oh, and EliteFTS seems to have a viking squatter on sale for $115 if anyone thinks that might be a better option...

I don't know what you should do, but I'd be sure not to get a looser centurion.

take it for what it is worth.
I am noob and have tried a loose NXG+ centurion, metal squatter, metal viking v type suit, and now own 2 centurion nxg super + suits in different sizes (one tight and one more of a training/grow into suit).

Te pros of a Metal is:
More comfortable on the skin than a centurion and VERY much more comfortable than any inzer. Sure comfort isn't that important, but if the suits are compareable, why not go for a more comfortable suit you can get on easy with the same result?

I would def get a well fitted metal. Measure yourself and call them. That way they will help you get the best suit for you.

I decided to go with the Metal viking squatter, it was on sale for something like $70 off, and was actually cheaper than the regular squatter, and one of the three sizes they had available was mine (I think...).

scan I'm glad you posted that, especially since I ordered it before I saw your post...haha.
