Question about 3ct pause deadlifts (and or bench)

If anyone could maybe help me out here that would be great.

For 3ct pause deadlifts does one count:

1,2,3

or

1001, 1002, 1003

?

I have done 3ct pause bench before and have been going the 1001,1002,1003 route and that seems pretty logical for bench.

I am just wondering if I should try to follow suit for 3ct pause deadlifts? I just want to make sure before I blow an O-ring doing it wrong

I am usually somewhere in the middle. It is a 3-count, not a 3-second, if that means anything to you.

When I have done them I just go 1, 2, 3. I dont know if thats right or not.
