BobW actually this guy was old enough to be your father. He gotta be like late 70s. We get a lot of the older folks at my gym because they do the Silver Sneakers thing.
box squatting barX2 warmup 135X2 warup 12 sets of 215 lbs. for 2 reps (Sorry didnt feel like writing it out. I went every 50 seconds or so. I believe these will help me with my problem of reaching parallel on squats.)
Then I did a 30 second hold of the 15s, and 20s on a lateral raise. I saw Derek Poundstone do these. I think theyre called crucifixes. I tried the 25s but my arms were too tired to hold it up for more than second or so. Thats it for today. I did all this in 2 hours and 15 minutes. I didnt talk much today. I hate to be selfish but the more I talk , the less I lift. I guess Im so familair with everybody that I tend to talk a lot. I dont want it costing my workouts though. Its nice to talk to everybody but at the same time I have goals and wanna make progress. I might start coming at a different time even. That way Im lifting amongst strangers and not friends. This took me about 2 hours and 20 minutes. I talked a bit though. I fell into that again. I dont think it adversely affected my workout. Thats it for today. All this stuff took me about 2 hours 20 minutes or about two hours 30 minutes. I cant remember what time I started at. I walked a mile when I came home for a little bit of cardio. I was satisfied with today's session. I came ready and I did a decent job I thought. Always couldve been better though. Thats why we keep going and trying to improve. Even if you're Donnie Thompson and you have the best total of all time, theres always something you can improve on.
